Rage Ritual

Inspired by the work of Mia Magik, this practice is for those of us who’ve been bottling up anger for years — sometimes even decades. Rage held in the body becomes tension, resentment, disempowerment. When you allow it to move through you consciously, it becomes medicine.

We often talk about soothing, regulating, and softening… but sometimes, the truest form of self-care is letting yourself scream, shake, punch, and pound your way back into aliveness.

This is your invitation to rage it out.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Find a safe space where you won’t be disturbed. That could be your car, your backyard, a rage room (yes, they exist!), a secluded forest, or your living room/bedroom.

  • Gather your tools: pillows, a towel, a stick, a bat, or just your fists. Something you can hit the bed, couch, or ground with safely.

  • Start moving the energy: Let your body guide you. Scream into a pillow. Hit the mattress. Yell. Growl. Cry. Shake. Curse.
Let the anger rise. Let it roar. Keep going until your body feels empty, spent, or done.

  • There’s no right or wrong way. Just don’t hold back. Breaking through the discomfort of performance or self consciousness will only serve you to release more.

Once you’ve hit that “spent” place…

Follow up with nervous system nourishment:

  • A warm shower or bath

  • Savasana or lying flat on the earth

  • Hydration

  • Journaling anything that came through

  • Wrapping up in a blanket and resting

Let the rage burn away what you no longer need to carry.
