Authentic Self

I'd like you to spend time this week journaling about your Authentic Self.

Who are YOU?

This is a BIG question and you can tackle it from many angles.

The exercise I'm offering is meant to remind you who you are, right now, & anchor in who you are and who you want to hold onto while doing this work, as well as finding the pieces of yourself you'd like to let go of.

This can look something like...

  • I am a strong, confident person.

  • I don't always speak up for my needs and wants.

  • I am able to be alone and find joy in the experience.

  • I know how to surrender to experience.

  • I have light and laughter inside me.

  • I love salad on my pizza.

  • I dance in my room alone.

  • I love to paint and discover my creative self.

  • My friendships are important to me.

  • I love going on dinner dates with girlfriends.

  • I struggle to find enough “time” in my day for all the things I want to do.

...etc.

This is who you are right now. In all of your glorious complexities.

Now, spend some more time writing about the person you aspire to be.

Who are YOU a year from now? Three years from now?

Which dispositions and activities that make you YOU do you want to lean into? What do you want to release?

Here are two quotes I remind myself of when I want to remember the importance of creating my before/after musings:

"One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus: we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular."

&

"You can't hit what you don't aim for...if you aim at nothing you'll hit it every time."

There's so much power in deciding who you want to be. Once you do that, you gain clarity of direction and your actions will be aligned with your higher vision of yourself.
